Seeing Yourself in the Music:
Global Traditions with Melyssa Stone and Choir Favorites with Sarra Sharif
The verdict is in, and students are more engaged when they can connect to the music that they’re singing. Please join us for our 6th Annual joint workshop between NWKE and WA-ACDA with powerhouse clinicians, Sarra Sharif and Melyssa Stone.
Sarra will spend Friday evening taking us through the paces with balanced choral warm-ups, tried and true musicianship activities and then leading a reading session of some of her favorite middle-school-chorister favorites. On Saturday, Melyssa will be focusing on music from around the world, specifically designed to help your students from out-of-US heritage connect to the music while helping your born-and-bred-US choristers learn about other cultures and music all at the same time. She will also be infusing various musicianship building, brain break and choral activities throughout the day.
If you teach elementary or middle school choir, this is a can’t-miss workshop for you! Walk away with 19 new octavos, ideas to start using immediately with your choir and a revitalized spirit to keep doing the amazing work that you do. Clock hours will be available.
